Innopsys INNOPSYS' aim is to exploit its high-tech expertise and resources to develop competitive, high-performance industrial instruments in biotechnology.

As well as developing and manufacturing our own products, we sign development contracts with OEMs to offer customers our technological competences (optics, micromechanics, servomechanisms and embedded electronics), projet management skills and industrial facilities for developing new instruments or adapt existing equipment for a specific application.

Working to a customer or market requirement, we create products from A to Z, applying an approach that reduces costs and risks. Read our Instruments services and development brochure .

Our assets:

  • Responsiveness service and optimized development costs.
  • We develop made-to-measure products combining performance with cost effectiveness, right-sized for the end application.

Innopsys Example
The LightScan project: Development of a low-cost biochip scanner for medical.

INNOPSYS' technology has been applied to develop a confocal scanner in cooperation with bioMérieux and the LETI/CEA laboratory for customized Affymetrix diagnostic DNA microarrays.

The LightScan scanner has been developed for bioMérieux's diagnostic applications and is not intended for use with standard Affymetrix array products.
The scanner principle is based on innovative optical disc technology. The optical format is added to the Affymetrix chip before DNA deposition. This format consists of tracks and addresses on the biochip, much like the tracks and addresses that exist on a regular CD. The optical format allows the use of a low-cost scanning device and a CD optical head.

The advantages of this system are a resolution better than 3 µm, a tenfold cost reduction, eightfold reduction in volume and higher sensitivity than conventional scanners.

In recognition of its high potential for innovation, this low-cost scanner was awarded a quality label by the French Ministry of Technology's micro- and nanotechnology network (RMNT) in 1999 (www.rmnt.org).
